Durations are what make the wait estimate useful on day one. It corrects itself against how long jobs really take at your place.
How the wait is worked out
Forty-five minutes a head to start, but colour and highlights carry their own timings, so a chair holding a three-hour job does not make everybody else's estimate wrong.
And the rule underneath it
Booked clients keep the slots they booked, and the capacity you set aside for them is held rather than hoped for. Walk-ins fill what is genuinely free. When a booking runs late, they are put back in at a bounded offset instead of at the front — which is a sentence you can say out loud to the person who has been waiting.
